Jose Vadi

The American food and beverage industry spends almost $12 billion a year targeting people to buy unhealthy food and drinks. 75% of teenagers of color drink at least one sugary drink a day. Drinking one or two sugary drinks each day increases the risk of Type 2 diabetes.

Watch Oakland youth Poet Laureate Obasi Davis raise his voice about the socioeconomic contributors to Type 2 diabetes in "TARGETS," one of the latest films from The Bigger Picture.
