It only took nine moves for 23-year-old World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen to checkmate Bill Gates. Clearly Gates knew going in that winning was a long shot, but it's amazing to see the ease with which Carlsen shuts him down. Their epic game, which took place on a Scandinavian talk show, lasted a mere 1 minute 20 seconds. Carlsen has been a grandmaster since the age of 13 and became world champ last fall. What an inspiration for all the kids in chess clubs across the world.
