Video: Google Hosts Same-Sex Weddings In Places Where They’re Illegal

France only legalized same-sex marriages this month, but before that law was passed Google, Ogilvy Paris and nonprofit organization Tous Unis Pour L’Egalite helped same-sex couples in France get married via Google Hangouts, which allows up to ten people to connect on live video calls. The couples were married by a mayor in Belgium where same-sex marriage is legal. The marriages were witnessed in person and online by the couples’ family and friends. The events were also broadcast live on YouTube.
