    Thank you for sharing this. This is such important knowledge.

    I discovered last year that I had a Vitamin D deficiency. After my mood had dropped and I was struggling with a number of other symptoms that doctors were unable to diagnose, a friend who works as a health professional suggested I did a Vit D test.

    Make time to be outside :)

      Wow, Kate. Glad you were able to get it diagnosed. I take the sun for granted since I live in LA, but I definitely think I suffered from SAD during the long Chicago winters I experienced as a child. Our bodies really do need these vitamins!

        Hi Liz,

        Oh yes, I'm familiar with SAD too. The UK is not as fortunate to have as much sunshine. However, when I discovered the deficiency I was told that 30 minutes of sunlight on the face and forearms around midday, 3 times a week would be "sufficient" during the British summertime.

        The deficiency I had was so low when it was diagnosed that the GP struggled to advise where I could buy the correct supplements.
