Maurice Sendak died last year but he left an indelible mark on millions of people whom he may never know. Sendak crystallized the joy, beauty and the grief of childhood in his much-beloved books, the most popular of which, Where the Wild Things Are, continues to be a staple in every kid's bookshelf. The author was a notorious curmudgeon but delightfully so, as highlighted in this touching animated tribute by Newsweek and Blank on Blank.
