    I wish I understood exactly what this discovery was. I want it broken down in laymen's terms!

      Alessandra, from what I understand, the discovery of gravitational waves proves that the Big Bang happened. This man has been working to prove it for 30years, and now we've finally found them. Amazing!

        I wish I understood all the equations/numbers they mentioned. Seems astronomical. LITERALLY.
