Myama Against the Odds: running a biz straight through a cholera crisis

In 2012, the deadlie cholera epidemic in decades struck West Africa. Mabella was a cholera hotspot.

Most of what anyone hears about Mabella is pretty sad stuff -- filthy conditions, overstuffed zinc houses, open defecation, untimely death from preventable diseases. And yeah; there's a fair share of that here. But Mabella, like a lot of urban areas, is a place of necessity for people trying to work their way up. It's teeming with life. It's a haven for survivors.

Myama is one of them.
