HOLSTEE Grant Helps Bring Swing Park To Dallas

Patrick McDonnell

In July, I won the HOLSTEE Fellowship and was awarded $1000 to make my dream project happen. My proposal, to build an urban Swing Park in an empty parking lot in the Deep Ellum Neighborhood, will come to fruition at the end of September. The Swing Park will debut at PARK(ing) Day Dallas on Friday, September 20, 2013. Check out this short video commentary on the Swing Park and my hopes for it's future.

Congratulations! Such a great idea for empty space, and to create a lot of fun on a little budget.

Thanks Yasha! We're all really excited to bring the Swing Park to Dallas, and since it's relatively inexpensive, I definitely want to make the case for mass replication.
