Hexi responsive wall by Thibaut

Based in Canada, designer Thibault Sld works on art that has elements of “geometry, light, mechanisms and interaction collide,” by creating interactive displays and lights that respond to exterior input. One of his most captivating works is Hexi, an interactive array of 60 hexagonal modules embedded with mechanical servos that use data from a nearby depth camera to physically respond to nearby motion. HEXI is made with vacuum casted facets manufactured in aluminium and PVC.

    First of all, I love his name! Secondly, my mind has been blown. It's fun to imagine a painting, like Van Gogh's Star Starry Night, being printed on the facets. It would be such a different experience to interact with such a masterpiece in this way.
