Cultivate Toronto - A CSA in the Middle of a City

Todd Tyrtle

Many of us city dwellers have an image in our heads about what Community Supported Agriculture looks like. Mine used to include pastoral scenes 100 or more kilometres from town, a big red barn and acres and acres of fields.

Cultivate Toronto is changing that image. This non-profit, now operating in three different parts of the city uses back yards donated by homeowners in exchange for a share of the food grown there. The result is extremely local food. Details: http://cultivatetoronto.com/
