Are we doing GOOD by doing "global health?"

As a student who has gone on overseas medical brigades, I must confront ethical questions about my presence in a foreign clinic and personal questions of motivation. These are often uncomfortable things to think about, let alone talk about. But it must be done in order for us to mature-no matter what stage of health care training. The Canadian documentary, "First Do No Harm," throws the viewer into the potentially paralyzing pit of questions. But fear not: asking is the necessary beginning.
