super spot on here. the world doesn't need more know-it-alls, it needs better people with characters that are built to last over time.
think this especially true at the moment. working in education and technology, i see the companies that are getting all the attention and VC $$ are data-driven ones that focus almost entirely on building skills and more knowledge. The shame is that i think the things that kids are REALLY missing are: how to be a good person, how to have great relationships, how to learn from mistakes, how to have manners, etc.
And sadly these are things that most schools won't touch, because of the religious implications etc, and most parents don't stress/know about.
Needless to say I am a true believer that our world has never needed more attention on character development than NOW.
Long live mr. rogers, reading rainbow, goofus and gallant, diver dan, and all the other visionaries who recognized this so long ago.
