Where do we draw the line at "adult" words though?
Protecting them from "fuck" isn't realistic or really helpful in my opinion. Kids should learn that some words are more powerful than others. It prepares them for the reality of a world where certain language commands special attention.
Is it exploiting them? Yes‚ but just in the same way that placing a child in front of a camera or on a stage does. "Fuck" is being used as a scapegoat that distracts from the larger (and arguably more important) argument that using children as media subjects is a form of objectification and commodification.
