i do agree that it is important to bring burning man home, connecting with people and improving community. the thing is, you never realize what is lacking from those places until you actually leave and experience a place like burning man. the point is that the resources and ingenuity wouldn't exist if there wasn't a burning man where people can be free to express whatever they'd like without the constraints of 'society.' it is a platform for people for people to meet in the flesh, connect, exchange ideas and re-evaluate they live their daily lives through this experience. the inspiration that the playa provides allows people to come back to society with a newfound sense of community and desire to bring burning man and its values back home.
if you want to talk unsustainable future, talk about las vegas. a 365-day playground and energy consuming fiend that has no intentions except pure hedonism. what does that add to community?
