Hi, Lisa. Thanks for commenting - that is a cute rabbit! Whether we should eat animals in any case is a question I struggle with often, but I also think it's possible for people to form emotional connections, similar to what you feel for your rabbit, with the pigs that provide for that bacon you love, and the cows that die for your medium-rare steak. As uncomfortable as it is to think about, each of these animals have some kind of individual personality. Assuming people are going to eat meat one way or another, raising cattle is a resource-heavy investment, and if eating more rabbit is healthier and can mitigate the environmental damage caused by the beef industry, I'm all for it.
Also - I did, in fact, live with a rabbit for several years. Dude was pretty cool. He came along on a road trip to New Orleans in 2004, and peed all over the beds in our hotel room, though. Not the best traveling companion.
