Absolutely. I've run two pilots of the HERO Rewards in Iowa, but nothing running on a permanent basis. The concept was thoroughly proven however, and we're eager to be able to support it with an app and community engagement platform not dissimilar from the GOOD Maker, actually.
I've since moved to Ithaca, NY, which is famous in community currency circles due to having had a local currency (the Ithaca HOUR) begun back in the mid-90's. Right now the system is largely dormant, but having just signed on as an organizer for the HOURs, that's what I'm here to help as well as with the launch of a local timebank via the same organization.
Each of those systems (community, social purpose, and time-based currencies) are RIPE with potential for change-making, when organized and intentionally applied for strategic purposes and *particularly* for those currently underserved by the dollar-based economy. THAT's where I'm headed, and is also the point where I ask we move offline. (^ ^ )
