Thank you for posting- I found this absolutely incredible. I believe that even for people who have committed crimes (setting aside for a moment the falsely accused), prison, it certain instances, could be a place of learning and building character--not such a place of degradation and sadness, and the idea of using art in this way is, to me, lovely.
It reminds me, in some ways, of an experiment done a few years ago (I sadly cannot remember all of the details) where a director went into a prison and cast several inmates in a version of Hamlet to be performed at the prison. The play went wonderfully and the director was thrilled to see how the performers embraced the project.
While this is a much different scenario, it is still introducing art into these people's lives, and I think that that is a notion with extremely positive potential.
