World Health Organization Declares Air Pollution Causes Cancer

It's official: air pollution is scientifically proven to be carcinogenic. The International Agency for Research on Cancer—the World Health Organization’s cancer agency—found that air pollution in its entirety, and not just specific components like diesel fumes, as previously thought, causes cancer. The head of the IARC, Kurt Straif, says, “We consider this to be the most important environmental carcinogen, more so than passive smoking.”
