    Totally agree with everything said in this post. It's interesting how oftentimes, employees feel more valued based on a raise, but I think that value comes from an employer/superior giving input and investing in one's ability to succeed longterm. Mentorship is something I think is lacking in most workplace cultures- but I think finding it is key. I feel like I've gotten mentorship unsolicited before- and I think that's the best kind. The unexpected is so rewarding, especially when it's from someone you admire.
