Why Does America Have a Hard Time With the Idea That Men Can Be Taught Not to Rape?

A 2011 Canadian consent awareness campaign caused that nation's sexual assault rate to decline by 10 percent—the first drop in years, but when rape survivor Zerlina Maxwell "went on television to say that we need to educate men how not to be sexually aggressive," she garnered "instant disdain, anger—and a lot worse." Worse as in hordes of men tweeting her and going on her Facebook page saying they want to rape her. How do we get men to step up and take the lead on sexual assault prevention?
