I teach Developmental Psychology to students of education (among others) and have been saying this same sort of thing for years. It's fantastic that someone so talented has taken up the torch to more widely broadcast the message that what our young students need most is the regulatory skills to persevere and grow from scholastic challenges. A century's worth of theory and research suggests as much. It is high time folks listened, and stopped pushing such practices tot he fringes (i.e., Maria Montessori figured this out 100 years ago too).
