When it Comes to Eliminating Racial Bias, Are These the Only Choices We Have?

Charles M. Blow writes that the Michael Dunn case "is simply one more example of the bias against—and in fact violence, both psychological and physical, against—the black body, particularly black men, that extends across society and across their lifetimes. And this violence is both interracial and intra-racial." The biases in schools and the justice system is never ending, and eliminating them isn't easy. The other unfair choice for survival? Black folk must be on their best behavior.

    Thanks for sharing! I hadn't seen this article but Charles Blow is so eloquent in the way he explains the lose/lose situation that many black people, especially males, find themselves in today in the US.
