What Congress Talks About When They Talk About Poverty

It's been 50 years this week since Lyndon B. Johnson announced the "War on Poverty" in America and yet the word 'poverty' still seems to be a word that only a few members of Congress like to talk about. Tackling poverty is a heavily ideologically divisive and I wanted to look at the terms and ideas surrounding the conversations on poverty in the House of Representatives. For a class at The New School I created these series of infographics using the 2013 Congressional Record.
