Jose: Great post. So often lawmakers say their policies are intended to benefit public schools and to do right by students and educators. Those who are serious need to seriously consider spending more time in classrooms.

I vote for the 100 days in low-income student's shoes, not the 1 day. One day is too easy to forget about. We need them to gain real empathy for what the policies are doing to education, not just a sound bite of good will so-to-speak.

I feel you. Most folks can endure for a day, and knowing there's a finite end where you get to go home and chill on your sofa keeps you from losing hope. You can still have a pretty hard heart and come up with ridiculous band-aid solutions after one day. If only 100 days in a row was practical.
