Urbanists Get Ready To Geek Out! Code For America's Street Mix App Was Just Released To Public Beta.

Six months in the making, the Code For America Fellows have come up with a street-sectioning app called Street Mix that allows everybody to practice basic urban design. Create your own streets, sidewalks, medians, bike lanes, trolley lines and add tons of amenities from vegetation and street furniture to bus stops and parklets. Very, very cool!

    OMG, this is so fun.

    I'm going to get some measurements of Sunset Blvd down in my neighborhood and start messing around with what's possible to fit in there. I've been saying i want a Sunset Line Light Rail for a while, this is such a cool way to envision how much room that really takes.

      Yes, this is SO fun and really good idea! From an urbanists standpoint, I'm really happy that CfA created a simple way to manipulate one of the basic pieces of design that we use in our day-to-day. They made urbanism accessible!
