Upcoming Wikipedia edit-a-thon will improve the visibility of women in tech and science

On October 19, a group will meet at London's Royal Society to update, correct, and generally improve the Wikipedia profiles of women scientists and technologists. Professor Uta Frith, one of the edit-a-thon's leaders, says the dearth of information about women like crystallographer Kathleen Lonsdale and paleontologist Mary Buckland reinforces the false idea that they aren't important historical figures. Wikipedians who can't make the meet-up in-person are invited to participate remotely.
