Please God in Heaven (not the God on the Mormon planet of Kolob) do not let this woman elitist ever set foot in our White House! She is a disaster.

I'm going assume that by "throw out the system" she's referring the system of the teachers union, which she referenced in the first portion of that quote.

I wish she would mean throw out the system by tossing the amount of standardized testing. We need formal assessments, that is known, but we do not need it at the level we have it. I remember only taking those test once or twice a year. Now it seems like it's every 6 weeks we have more testing to give.

We do not have unions where I am for teachers, only 1.8% are in unions, but the school district I am in is excellent. 87% of its schools rated either Exemplary or Recognized where in Texas schools are known for being crap.

But I'm not so so sure about this "highly-personalized, creativity-infused learning experience," and I'm a teacher. Liz it seems like you have a background in education or are a teacher or something of the sort. You should know that for children that are considered "at-risk" or "disenfranchised" that a Direct-Instruction model is better. Which isn't the complete opposite of what you are calling for, but it isn't the same either.

I'm interested to see where she will go with this if they get elected. It's something to watch.
