    Sounds like an awesome event, Manasa. I love point #3 because women often shy away from asserting their distinct skills in a group setting, when we're actually VERY competitive deep down. Events and conversations like this are the first step towards redefining a smart competitive + collaborative future for not just women, but everyone.

    The problems of encouraging participation from women is a men's issue; we must discover how to present and listen and particularly avoid the dismissive or deriding that so often passes for sanity in men but is beyond any concern for another woman or man.

    thank you for sharing this as many women and girls feel as you do but think they are alone. The difference is you spoke your truth and provided steps for others to look at and maybe incorporate along their personal paths. Peace

    As a part of the work I have created for myself through Culture of Future I include digital communication workshops because this is what helped me get through the glass ceiling. I am able through the new digital world or networked world to work overseas and spread ideas interesting to me and hopefully of inspirational influence. I find this article accurate to my experience. In the over 100 presentations I have done globally I rarely find women up there speaking... or even doing work in which you have to stand up to boards or upper management and bring in new ideas of humanity that are more empathy driven for innovation (this is the speaking up that I gravitate to). It is frightening for anyone to stand up outside of his or her norm and because I consider myself 'different' it feels difficult. I am starting to understand that 'different' is what everyone feels but I am also starting to see that 'different' can be many things, other country, class, gender, culture, race and perhaps thinker. And at the same time a part of me thinks I feel different simply because I am a woman from an elder age category working with influential men and standing up pretty much alone. But I find it interesting that I am invited to the conversation over and over, I am grateful to these influencers. It is changing. Not as fast as you might think or want but it is changing. From my POV each of us has a job to do... a purpose... to stand up where you personally feel there is inequity. What is your POV? It could be gender inequity and if so bravo to you for speaking up in an interesting way. If that is not what it is for you what is it and what can you do to contribute in a way you find compelling? Ultimately we have to integrate it all into human or humane respect for each and all-sentient beings. We are not there yet but each has a potential role or job to do to get us there. Thank you for the opportunity to share. Love the work being done through Good, the platform, the fellows and the many other sources aimed at change in our world.
