Awesome project! I saw that you were looking for "entry into overseas markets for fair-trade, design and ecological shops". I'm just getting ready to launch a socially conscious goods business (online and in shops) and would love to check out some of your products. Right now we have inventory of handbags made by Cambodian artisans from reclaimed cement and rice bags. I was in Cambodian 1 1/2 ago and my wife has a ton of family there - hence the reason we're starting with that product. It'd be great to see how we might be able to work together (i.e. we buy & sell products from your projects). I'd definitely be interested in the earrings and also the handbags... and anything else.

Hi Joel-so sorry not to reply beforehand-we have two new workshops starting this week so i've been very busy..But glad you like the project and your social business sounds very interesting. We have just registered for the reduced rate artsien psotage here in Ecuador and about to make our first export so we definitely can export the recycled jewellery and also the bags. In about three months we should also have a line of recycled cards with another group of women, and with our sewing group i've just started designing some recycled goods with them, so again in a couple of months we should have some sewing products too, but for the moment we have the jewellery and bag lines. If you want to write to me directly at or through our website(subject line FOR ALI) we can talk some more-and good luck with your social business!

Really cool project. I hope you are able to expand into Mexico, it would be really cool to see this happening in multiple places.

    Great work!

Thanks, was good to read about the other project in Lebanon too. We publish volunteer posts on Idealist so hopefully we'll get some great volunteers to come and help out.
