This Amazing Female Biker Gang Redefines Gender Roles in Morocco [PHOTOS]

Self-taught photographer Hassan Hajjaj, a native of Morocco, pays tribute to young, female biker culture in Marrakesh in the stunning photo series "Kesh Angels". His portraits subvert preconceived notions of Arab women, showing motorcyclists in polka-dot abaya and Nike-branded djellaba, posing on their bikes against brightly-painted walls. The images defy any anti-modern and ultra-conservative stereotypes the West often has about Muslim women, and are incredible portraits, to boot.

    This is so awesome, I love getting a glimpse of a subculture like this one and from an art perspective the work comes off as fully realized and aesthetically cohesive. Great stuff.
