There is time yet to mend the Leaky Pipeline

Few women take up careers in computer science and software engineering. The problem is often referred to as a 'Leaky Pipeline', where girls drop out at each stage of the pipe, from middle school through to university.

The organisers of the NCSS Challenge (an online programming competition for school students) are finally starting to see the results of their efforts to mend the pipeline, as girls who first learnt to program through the Challenge are now entering university.
