The "world's bravest orchestra" makes their American debut

The National Youth Orchestra of Iraq was founded in 2009 by a 17-year-old girl who knew that the best way to unite the young people of her country was to play music together. The orchestra's musicians, including Kurds and Arabs, Sunnis and Shiites, men and women, risk real danger in learning music and must travel abroad in order to play safely together.

In August of 2014, they visit the U.S. for the first time.
