    The question is not whether it's happening. It's obvious that there are climate trends in effect now, just as there have always been, and that those trends are real and are affecting our planet. There are many other questions about climate change, though, like Why is it happening? What's the long-term significance? How does this compare to other instances of climate change throughout the history of the earth? Is it happening on a larger scale? Smaller? Faster? Is it unprecedented? If there were no debate about climate change -- no questions to be asked and answered and agreed and disagreed about, there probably wouldn't be 13,950 peer-reviewed articles about it.
