Great to know that food stamps actually help increase farm jobs. My father really benefits from fresh produce offered at farmer's markets- but only because of food stamps. Do you know of any petitions or movements out there to fight against these cuts?

I think many organizations are taking this into account. For example, Massachusetts Farmer Market intends on setting up a SNAP system where people can get double the worth of fresh produce. MFM will basically match every food stamp dollar. The hope is that this program will help relieve some of the burden of the food stamp cuts.

Yes I notice that my father (who is in Massachusetts) is actually able to get fresh produce because of this program.

I'm curious to know how your father is coping with the cuts--how is he faring?

Right now, there is this petition on

And organizations like can help funnel excess foods that anyone has in their gardens to their local food pantries.

But overall this is a serious issue that needs to be addressed sooner than later, with 47 million people going hungry/being food insecure. Nothing good happens on an empty stomach.

Thank you so much for that Bora. I keep asking him about it and he says he hasn't gotten any notices about cuts, and it seems like they're giving him the same amount. I am going to look into AmpleHarvest though and sign that petition, so thank you!
