Dear All, I am Karim Marco Varini and with Gabriele Donati, based in NYC, we are co-founders of TIMEREPUBLIK a Global Time Bank that officially launched on the 21st of December 2012.

TIMEREPUBLIK is the result of many sleepless nights thinking of how to materialize an almost utopian concept: a true Democracy based on Merit.

We had often dreamt about creating a community of people who would freely exchange their talents because we strongly believe that everybody has one. Now that this dream is realized we can help you to find yours.

At first we were romanticizing about going back to a barter society, but we soon realized that we really wanted to go forward, not backwards! So we created something that has never been done before, at least not on this scale.

We live in a very interesting time where technology - and people’s trust and confidence in it – have allowed us to create a platform that connects people globally. Members of TIMEREPUBLIK can look for and find their specific needs by searching for specific talents. Once they find it, they swap it for time they’ve previously collected in their Time Wallet. The only way to collect time is to offer talent in exchange for a service, in other words: you trade your time for a talent. What’s revolutionary in TIMEREPUBLIK is that your Time has the exact same value as anyone else’s Time!

TIMEREPUBLIK has endless applications, one of our favorites is based on the concept we call the recognition of the favor. What do we mean by that?

Well, how many times did you say to yourself: “I always help my friends, but when I need help, everybody vanishes…”. For example: Living in New York I've helped many friends with their moves; how can you say no? What about helping a friend to find the perfect wedding dress? Or standing in endless lines to get tickets for a show? Or helping out with a foreign language translation?
Wouldn’t be nice to get something in exchange? Not that you expect something back when you do a favor for a friend, but wouldn’t it be nice if you did? Wouldn't it be nice to collect time in a Time Wallet that could be exchanged whenever, for whatever service you might need?

But TIMEREPUBLIK is much more. One of the advantages is that we help connect our members to non-profit organizations and charities. In doing so we make it much easier for organizations to find people who are open to help out for a good cause. In exchange, you receive Awards to display on your profile.

Your profile is your personal ID and it's, basically, a very detailed resumé. The novelty is that this resumé is mostly composed by other people, not by yourself. It includes: ratings and recommendations others have given you, a history of the Awards you've collected, and a list of your favorites. That's how you build a TIMEREPUBLIK reputation!

As you can tell we are really excited about this project and we can't wait to share it with you. Please join us today and be part of our revolutionary community!
