The Air You Breathe

Pattee Fletcher

Do you know the quality of the air you breath? Knowing the pollution levels of where you live may save your life, or at least give a good indicator of your pulmonary health. There are five major air pollutants regulated by the Clean Air Act: ground-level ozone, particle pollution, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, & nitrogen dioxide.
The Air Quality Index values are published daily at the federal government site, AirNow. These are also coded by color - beware of Orange, Red, Purple & Maroon.
