The 10 Most Exciting Cities in America

Here's a round up of the 10 best cities in America, and surprisingly New York City isn't in the top five, and Los Angeles isn't on the list at all. The rating is based on park acreage per person; percentage of the population age 20 to 34; bars, movie theaters, museums, theater companies and music venues per square mile; racial and ethnic diversity. Also established were two negative indicators: fast food restaurants, and Targets/Walmarts. The fewer of each per square mile, the better.

    Very interesting. Although come to think of it... maybe not so much, based on the standards given I suppose there are no real surprises.

    Oakland out of no where! Now I feel like I need to adjust my view of "desirable cities to live in".. which mostly consisted of New York and San Francisco. Poor LA-- we'll get there someday!
