California Gov. Jerry Brown recently declared a drought emergency since 2013 was the state's driest year since 1850. It's so bad in 17 rural communities that they could be out of water within 60 days. According to the San Jose Mercury News the state's health officials are even talking to FEMA about solutions like "trucking in water." Scientists are worried the state's on the verge of a mega drought. Meanwhile, businesses in my L.A. neighborhood keep hosing off the sidewalks outside their doors.
