'Teddy Guardian' is Soft, Comforting and Can Read Kids' Vital Signs

Young kids sometimes get stressed or scared when doctors need to measure their vital signs. But this cute, squishy teddy bear is not overwhelming at all; kids hug the bear while inner sensor technology measures vitals like heart rate, temperature and oxygen saturation. A prototype tested in pediatric clinics has shown the Teddy Guardian to work as well as existing medical devices. The creators of the bear hope that it will help keep kids relaxed, leading to a more accurate reading.
