"Susan Sontag's Radical Vision for Remixing Education"

Laura Kurtzberg

Brainpickings.org published a fascinating idea that Susan Sontag thought up in 1973- Why not make eliminate education between the ages of 12 and 16? Then, those four years would be put to use for education at the age of 50-54. Encore career, anyone?

What would the world be like if this were true? What would college be like?

It is definitely an interesting thought experiment.

Ehh... i'm not sure I agree with this! I feel like the brain is maturing and scientifically, children should be in school at this time. Has anyone read Sontag's " Regarding the Pain of Others?" She definitely has interesting opinions and arguments that are worth reading.

I haven't read it, but it sounds interesting! I will put it on my list of things to read, for sure.
