Slide Show: Stunning Images of the Civil Rights Movement

Photographer Bruce Davidson documented the civil-rights movement through a series of powerful black and white images. While the series shows protests and violence, it also reveals the social and economic circumstances in NYC, Chicago, Mississippi, Alabama, etc. From his images of protestors being dragged through the streets to quiet moments at carnivals, these pictures are one of the most comprehensive and pervasive documents from this period in history and feel especially poignant today.
