Second-Grader Designs a Buddy Bench to Build Friendships

There's no place or age restriction on making a difference. During recess, second-grader Christian Bucks noticed some of his classmates seemed lonelier than others, so he decided to design something that could help: a "buddy bench". Installed at Roundtown Elementary School in York, Pa., his "buddy bench" is a place where kids can meet, talk, and support each other--or as Bucks told the York Daily Record, "grow our dream circle of friends." The school let him design the look of his bench.
