Sand Art that Washes Away But is Meant to Leave an Impression

Using an ancient printing method, Iranian environmental artist Ahmad Nadalian makes sand art using cylinders carved to leave behind impressions of fish, flowers, snakes and other images from nature. Because the images are rolled on the sand, they're only temporary. "Art offers a blessing and hope for harmony with the past, with the earth, and the heavens," he says.
