Stamen has been doing some phenomenal work with maps, taking common mapping structures and making them suddenly delightful—with watercolors, Mars-influence, or recalling literal heat-maps. How do different maps make us think of the world and our place in it differently? With so many different methods of cartography prior to the Internet era, why haven't we reenvisioned electronic mapping?
