Amazing points Raj Patel makes about the wages of food chain workers. I wonder how possible it is to reduce the drudgery involved in the work itself?

If workers were consulted on that question, that would probably help. Workers usually have ideas about how to make a job conditions better. Thanks for reading Raj Patel's article!

We don't propose to speak for the workers themselves, but in other cases, we have heard of workers suggesting rotating duties so they're not doing the same thing for 8 hours (or more) straight, having additional staff so one person isn't doing the job of 2 or more people, having ergonomic equipment, being able to listen to music at work (if that's safe)... It all depends on the job of course, but those are some general ideas.

Sounds like simple solutions. Wondering what the challenges are in enacting them?
