Reading For Pleasure Can Boost Children’s Math Scores

Research says, reading is more important for children’s cognitive development at secondary school than the influence of their parents.

Dr Sullivan added: “It may seem surprising that reading for pleasure would help to improve children’s math scores."

“But it is likely that strong reading ability will enable children to absorb and understand new information and affect their attainment in all subjects.”

    Really interesting. I wonder if that's caused by how the brain scans information- and how neural signals are triggered to learn in certain ways?
