POP Up Playhouse in Philadelphia

SCH+ARC Studio

This proposal was recently selected as honourable mention in Building Trust International's PLAYscapes competition. The competition received over 500 international entries envisioning ways to turn neglected areas of a city into design opportunities for community involvement and play. This is great. Will you be building it, or is it just a concept?

    • SCH+ARC Studio

Thanks Adele! The project is currently in its concept design stage. We now hope to bring broader attention (and new sets of eyes!) to the design initiative- such that with local community support and participation we can bring the Pop Up Playhouse into fruition.

Awesome. Will you be replicating it anywhere once it's up? Would love to know more about you guys! An about me on your profile would be radical!

Hi Alessandra! Adaptable in both size and configuration, Pop Up Playhouse can be tailored for sites of any size. Simply reduce the number of panels to create a more space efficient design, or increase the count to maximize the number of connector play spaces within. The panels are customizable to reflect the stylistic tradition of your city.
