What happens when a professor takes her child to a Maker Faire? Things get made, of course, but not just of the DIY variety. A couple of years ago, this prof meet a budding non-profit called Pixel Arts and started making plans, too. Today Pixel Arts is in full swing, bringing excellent -- and free -- extra-curricular programming to youth in the Portland Metro area. Read on for an inspiring story of how a vibrant group of volunteers are doing quite a bit of good in their community.
