Penn State To Faculty: Go See A Doctor Or Pay A $100 Fine.


Some universities reward healthy choices with financial incentives. Penn State will try a different approach: a $100 monthly surcharge for faculty members who skip out on preventative and biometric screenings. The university claims the move will lower the shared cost of insurance, but some faculty members are objecting to what they characterize as "coerced" healthy living.

    I bet this charge will cause more people to get checkups. I still think incentives help too, though.
