On Altered Art: A Photographer's Post-9/11 Images Damaged by Hurricane Sandy

Two NY tragedies are represented in a new exhibit: images of post-9/11 recovery and rebuilding efforts were damaged when the photographer's home was flooded by Hurricane Sandy. "I honestly never thought much about the photographs and their significance until they were lost... If I had a choice, I would definitely prefer the original negatives to the damaged ones, but the damaged negatives have created amazing images that are something that the ocean paintbrush created," says Michael Redpath.
